Win10 with older games? Compatibility Mode issue.

Has anyone tried to install any old games on Windows 10?

Specifically, I just love playing the old Command&Conquer Generals games. Still have all of the discs, and installed them on a clean version of Win10. Downloaded latest updates from C&C.

It ran just fine on Win8 using the compatibility mode and administrator options. Just wondering if there's something else that I'm missing that someone else can think of?

On, the RTM I have found about 3 programs so far that ran fine in 7 x64 and 8.1 x64 that do not run at all under Windows 10 (only been running the RTM for 2 days now). I have not even touched games yet (well besides modern games, GTA 5 and a few others)

You might be stuck doing a VM or rolling back. I hope they adress this, Windows Compatibity is the biggest feature with Windows and if they lose that in 10, it will be a deal breaker for TONS of people...esp business computers (and that is about 70% of Windows sales)
