Windows Central Question

Sound on my laptop does not after updating to Windows 10.

Yesterday I updated my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All seems to be working swimmingly apart from the sound, which doesn't work at all. I checked the drivers and it says that they've been updated yesterday along with the OS change. Oh, I use Dell Vostro V131 laptop.
Thank you so much for help.

Me neither! And I'm on a Surface Pro 3. No sound! I'm looking for a driver or something but nobody else seems to be having an issue? Please let us know if anyone finds anything. Thank you.

Right click on the volume icon on the far right of the taskbar and select "Playback devices".
Select your speaker/headphones and select "Properties"
From there change the sound to 16 bit audio. I had something similar happen to me on an earlier build and this was the fix I needed.

Re: Sound on my laptop does not after updating to Windows 10.

What fixed the problem for me was adding a tick to the disable enhancements box under the speaker properties.
