I have a MSI gaming laptop and still waiting for the upgrade. I've tried forcing it and never worked so I decided to wait for it. Wondering how long will it take to get it?

I have 3 PC's that I registered early which received the upgrade correctly. I have a 4th that was also registered early which appears to have downloaded the files (presence of $Windows.~BTfolder with files) but generates an event log error when Windows Update is run related to the WIndows 10 Home upgrade. And I have a 5th PC that was registered late due to issues getting the WIndows 10 reservation icon to show up which hasn't downloaded anything yet.

GO to the Windows 10 download page, select download, Run the program, when I starts, select "upgrade this computer to Windows 10".

It will upgrade your computer (as your trying to do) and kick it off NOW. No waiting, I had to do this too...

You can just do it from here,

You don't need to make an ISO, it will run the upgrade directly along with getting all the updates. You can even clean install it if you wish.

GO to the Windows 10 download page, select download, Run the program, when I starts, select "upgrade this computer to Windows 10".

It will upgrade your computer (as your trying to do) and kick it off NOW. No waiting, I had to do this too...

Thanks downloading it now

Stupid question, but I have reserved Windows 10 and it has yet to upgrade. The icon still says that my system is compatible and it will notify me when it becomes available. My question is, I have heard that it will not become available until Microsoft is sure that driver support is available. Reading up on it online, most say that I should not force upgrade as it may cause issues, because of the possibility of incompatibilty and just be patient. Should I wait or succumb to my impatient side and do actions stated above?

YOLO imo lol. I have an iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 Plus and running iOS 9 public beta on both of them :)

You can always downgrade back down to Windows 8.1 or 7 if you have issues.

Some people are having a mess and others no problems. I enjoy a bit of troubleshooting myself. But if you are a "just push the button and see what happens type" you will probably be ok with the outcome.

Noticed when looking at my recent updates that since 07/31/15 my computer has been trying to download Windows 10 everyday but next to the update it says failed. Is this suppose to show this when your computer "is not ready" or is this a problem with the update itself?

It seems so. I've never had to do anything special with a license or key.

I have noticed when running it that it seems to get most of the updates at the time of install. But I guess that would be the case for any connected installation. It's nice having to not go through patch cycles after installation.

I have 4 PC's (3 8.1 and 1 Windows 7) that received the upgrade, but I still have 1 Windows 7 that hasn't gotten it yet (no download yet either). I wonder when Microsoft plans on finishing the rollout?

OK, did the download upgrade and it worked fine. Thanks! :)

Now to decide whether to reinstall this older laptop with the 64-bit version just to be consistent across all our PC's (was a prior Vista to W7 upgrade and now W10)!
