Unable to connect mobile to laptop

Hello guys. I am running windows 10 on my mobile as well as on my laptop. When I try to connect my mobile to laptop . My laptop is unable to show the mobile . But in notification are it showing safely remove your mobile. And finally how to use phone companion application.?
