So I used the Get Windows 10 app on another computer back in May or June to reserve a copy for my personal computer. However, when I open the get windows 10 app on my personal computer to sync the reservation, it doesn't provide me any option to say "i already reserved it just on a different computer and I have 3 emails from Windows to proove it!" Short of forcing the download/update, am I resigned to being in the back of the line because I didn't reserve it on my computer?

well, you have to wait, I don't know why. but if you don't want to wait, just download the mediacreationtool, get your version of windows 10, put it on USB or DVD whatever you want. then open it on Windows 7/8 and tell it you want to upgrade and keep the files and apps if you want.
The setup will download drivers and take the time it has to take if it has to, it took like 45 minutes on a laptop and it took like 10 minutes on my desktop. so it depends on how it has to prepare your computer for the update.

You could also try to open Command Prompt as an admin, and type: wuauclt.exe /updatenow
That way some people have forced windows 10 to update through Windows Update, you could try it as well if you want to have Windows 10 now. if it fails I guess the first paragraph would be a better and faster option and you can keep it if you want to clean install it later when you activate Windows 10 with free offer upgrading from 7/8 to 10.
