Previously working USB device noT recognized after windows 10 update

My Targus amu73ap mouse that was workinG perfectly with 8.1 is not working on either my PC or Asus T100 hybrid after the update to windows 10. I keep getting a message saying that the usb device malfunctioned.

You may need to try rolling back your USB drivers (or install the original drivers for your mouse from the manufacturer). I had a LAN driver get screwy with Win10 and I rolled it back to the original Win7 driver and it resolved the issue.
