Is it possible to disable touch screen edge swipe gestures?

Since the task switcher and action center can be brought up through buttons on the task bar, is it possible to disable the left and right edge swipe gestures for them? I realize that it may not be a popular opinion, but I came to dislike the edge swipes on Win 8.x because I tend to accidentally trigger them, especially with games that have swipe-like motions. (Fruit Ninja was my first experience with this when the Surface launched. My most recent experience was with Overkill 3 on my DV8P, repeatedly triggering the task switcher while trying to aim with the left onscreen thumb "joystick".)
