Windows 10 start menu and app store doesn't work

Few days ago I updated to windows 10 from windows 7 pro. My system was working fine for first few days. One morning I found that the system stop working suddenly. When I click on start menu, it forces me log out. If click on app store, it shows 'critical error' message. I read some online threads and administered few commands prompt as well but problem remained the same. I am using norton internet security. I am not sure if it is related to this problem. However I found someone threads about avast antivirus relating to this issue. Any help will be appreciated.

I got that error. I fixed it my restarting my laptop and I repeatedly pressed F8 until I got to the log in screen. I have a Compaq Presario CQ57-339WM. I don't know what laptop you have. I upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I tried as you did but no luck. My machine is iMAC 21.5. I installed windows 7 two years ago using bootcamp assistant and just updated to windows 10.
