Where is texting from Windows 10?

There hasn't been ANY news on the messaging app for laptops/desktops and I'm wondering when we're gonna get anything on this? Anyone know anything? Even google searches don't really bring up anything more recent than March or April.

I think this is going to come from the Messaging Skype Preview that is currently in W10Mobile. I can see this app doing the background sync. Get a SIM text on your phone and the app syncs it to your other devices running the universal app.

That's what I was thinking. But now I want it to be released so I can text on my computer! Haha.

It looks almost exactly like what Google does with hangouts. Coming from Android, I have to say that I loved that feature. Looking forward to this coming to W10 so I can use it without Chrome hogging system resources.
