Authenticator app and Microsoft edge insights please.

I have a 2 step verification set up and whilst Mozilla asks me for a code generated from the authenticator app before log in, Microsoft edge asks me NOTHING. I can basically log in and change everything without the browser asking for for any authenticator generated code. Is this normal and safe for Microsoft browser app to do this? It kinda makes the authenticator app useless. Thanks.

well it makes sense it does this, you know, your computer is whitelisted for being used only by YOU with your Microsoft account. Edge grabs your password and username from the account used for Windows, that means it probably gets the passwords from the vault and not from the edge itself. thing Firefox doesn't do.

if I go to account.live.com I am only asked for my password and I can change everything. because my computer has my Microsoft account and it is Trusted, maybe you should go to https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage?mkt=en-US
and remove all trusted devices, then you never trust your PC, you only can't sync some sensitive things like passwords, but you would not be able to make all those changes without asking for a code.
It's suppose to work that way.

Wow...I think it makes perfect sense now. It's actually pulling from the account used on the PC and considers it trusted thus not asking for any code. I get it now...thanks a lot 😊
