Why can't I see all my emails in Windows 10 PC mail app?

I have emails from about 1 month old that I created as reminders (because this is a convenient method for me) that I have no problem seeing in outlook.com but they're invisible in the win 10 app. Is it just me or many of you guys have noticed this issue? Thanks

You have to go into the account settings & choose to sync all messages.

Thanks Doctor9fan! ) 2 questions though: 1-why in the world didn't Microsoft set it up that way by default in the first place? 2-and why do they make this setting hard to find? I'm not asking you of course I'm just sarcastic............lollllllll
