Can't use my function keys when playing video games. All I hear is a noise when pressing them. How can I fix it?

Can't use my function keys when playing video games. All I hear is a noise when pressing them.

I don't know why this is happening. Whenever I'm in-game and press my function keys (f1-f12) nothing happens. I only hear the sound that you get when opening an .exe file, or changing your sound. Some people have said this is because of the Windows 10 keyboard shortcuts, but I don't know how to disable them.
