Update downloaded, no option to install!!

After spending hours in front of my VAIO waiting for the update to be downloaded (sloooooow internet connection), my VAIO shows that it's up to date!!??!
Reinstalling neither checking for updates helped
Restoring to a specific point, will this help?????
