I have word 2013. will it work in windows 10? I've heard you can't access .docx documents

I have two programmes that are essential to my work: Word 2013 and Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006. Neither of these work in Windows 10, even though I paid for them. I can no longer access my .doc or .docx files, which are essential to my work. I can access them through various apps from the app store but I cannot edit them unless I pay for an app. Why has Microsoft suddenly taken away programmes which I have paid for already?

False, Office 2013 works perfectly in 7, 8.1, 10, etc. Office 365, while MS would like us to subscribe to it, is not necessary to get Office work done. I had a friend with Office 2003 on their Windows 7 laptop, I imagine it would still work in 10.

I can't say about the Image Suite, not being familiar with it, but I imagine Windows 10's compatibility settings would be more than enough in the event of an issue.

I use Office 2010 and it works just fine.

You were told wrong. Word (in fact the whole of Office) 2013 works perfectly in W10. Think about it - Microsoft would be utterly mad if W10 broke its main money spinner! Can't comment on Digital Image Suite, though - sorry.

Word 13 does NOT work in Windows 10. The compatibility troubleshooter simply says: incompatible programme. Sp if you can get Office 13 and specifically Word 2013 to work, can you please tell me how? Thanks

Have Office 10 & 13 on multiple drives with '10'. It works just fine on all of them.

Well Word 2013 works on my on all my Windows 10 machines. Word (modern) for Windows 10 is a separate product from Word 2013. Using modern Word it opens read-only until you purchase. It works fine with the desktop version of Office 2013.
