Hello All switching from a Win8 to Win 10 on the 640, how is this done?

Hello All switching from a win8 to win 10 on the 640 how is this done.

I have the 640 lumia and I'm very happy with it but I was reading here on this post and I see people talking about win10 I'm lost. Do I understand this right I can do something to my phone and have it be using win 10? instead of win 8 how do you start this process from the beginning, and what will be lost when I make the switch? Thank you

First of all you have to join microsoft windows insider program by downloading windows insider app and through this app signup for microsoft windows insider and then check for phone update from settings-phone update...

Nothing will be lost on updating. Install"windows insider" open it.. Agree the terms etc... Select fast ring.. Phone will restart.. Now go to phone update n check for update.. The size of update is around 600-700mb... That's it.. Whole downloading n installing process will take around 1.5 hours...
