Windows Store - Movies - The Hobbit Trilogy

Hello,

I went to the app store on my desktop Windows 10 to purchase the Hobbit Trilogy. I found it but assume it is Blu Ray or DVD. I don't have a player anymore (since 2012). I would like to buy it online so I could own it with out physical media.

Can I do this with Windows? Or am I stuck having to buy a blu ray player (i.e not buying it)

if it's in the windows store, it's the streaming/download version, if you are talking about this one https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/movies/the-hobbit-extended-edition-trilogy-3-movie-collection/8d6kgx0c2mkl

it'll then show up in your movies & tv app on windows 10 desktop, phone, xbox one, etc to stream (or possibly download, not sure, haven't bought a movie from the MS windows store)

Yes! That is the one!
So it is a cloud version? Because that is what I am looking for!
Can I download it and copy it to a media device? This way I can watch it offline.
And I own it right? Just like a physical copy?

Bummer! It will let me download it in an MP4 format, but it is either protected or non standard format - can't play it on my media player or via VLC.
I was hoping to use it no my media player (transfer to USB) and use it on my old TV. Can't use my laptop - no RCA jacks.

Suggestions?
