Why is Cortana not wanting to activate by "Hey Cortana" or by Win + C?

Whenever I bring my computer out of sleep mode Cortana refuses to respond to the "Hey Cortana" command. Also when I press the Win + C command she opens up to listen, but opens for a second maybe two and then closes back out. I have tried killing her task in the task manager, but that only works sometimes. I have even tried to refresh Explorer.exe and that doesn't seem to do much either. I am using an Asus Q551LN. The built in mic acts up, same as my USB Logitech webcam. Not quite sure what is causing this, but any help is always appreciated.
