Reformatting to Windows 10

I am currently running Windows 10 Pro and having experienced a handful of issues with it (which a reset did not resolve) I've decided to reformat and install the latest Windows 10 from scratch.

My question is around process and activation.

On process: where can I obtain a copy of the latest version of Windows 10 Pro to put on a thumb drive for booting into for the install?

On activation: I purchased the PC that I have Windows 10 installed on used. It had Windows 8.1 Pro installed at the time and I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro late last year. The machine did not have a key sticker pasted on the case so I don't know what the key is. Is there a way to ensure that I will be able to activate it after a reformat and fresh install? Is there a way to tie the current activation to my hotmail account and have it carry over? What do I need to do to make this work?

Thanks in advance for your help.
