iPad and IPhone see Win10 hotspot but won't connect
I've been trying to create a hotspot on my laptop so I can share it's high power usb wifi adapter with my iPhone and iPad.
I tried this first using Win7, and when I was unsuccessful I reluctantly upgraded the laptop to Win10. I'm still not successful, and have now added the irritants of Win10 to my problem.
I used the appropriate netsh wlan commands and my phone sees the ssid broadcast from the laptop. However the phone is never assigned a correct IP address and eventually gives up.
I've double checked that I'm using the same wifi password in phone and laptop. I've confirmed that the use wireless adapter is shared automatically by win10. Google works on the laptop, so it has internet connectivity (wired at the moment. Win10 thinks the wireless adapters are up to date.
What am I doing wrong?
