how do I initiate split screen?

Before the Windows 10 update I was able to have two windows open on the same screen. I cannot find where to bring that back

Drag an app to either the side of the screen, or top right or top left and it will automatically snap.

Windows 10 allow you to anchor 4 screens. It's called snap.

Go to Settings -> System -> Multitasking and make sure the settings are turned on under Snap.
