Windows Central Question

I upgraded a Dell E6400 to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 7.

4GB RAM, 64 bit, Intel Core Duo 2.53 GHz

Edge browser seems OK as far as CPU usage. Total CPU usage is around 30% or less. But, other browsers I've tried - Chrome, Opera, FireFox - will all suddenly cause CPU usage to hit 100% after about 10 minutes. I start the browsers, load up FB and a couple other sites. But, just browsing-no videos, no you tubes, etc. I do a few things, then let the browser sit there. Suddenly, 100% CPU usage. Then a system restart is required.

Edge has spikes to 100%. but those are momentary and CPU usage drops back down to a 'normal' amount.

It almost seems like Windows 10 is trying to force me to use Edge.

Any ideas ?
