Upgraded to windows 10, found files and copied, now lost
My laptop upgraded itself to windows 10 and I couldn't find any of my pictures or documents. I then found them and so copied them over into the appropriate files, used the laptop as normal and everything was fine. Its now a few days later and everything is gone. I rang Microsoft and was told to restore back to windows 8 and I would have everything, so I did. After restoring everything is still gone. I rang Microsoft again and was told that because I copied the files over and didn't save them (didn't know I had to, thought they would be safe in the folders) that when I restored to windows 8, my files went with the update and my only option is recovery. I've looked everywhere for my files and even tried recuva but I have no idea what I'm doing. What am I supposed to do now? Pay for the problem to be fixed when its Microsoft's fault I've lost my files?
