Network connection

My network connection user name shows "Secured". Right below is the same name followed by "- guest" and "Open". Is this a potential problem? Does this allow someone else access to my network connection? If so, how do I delete it?

Re: Network connection

This is in your Wi-Fi router. It has a guest portal option.

You will need to download the handbook for your specific model, log in and turn it off.

If it is also password protected with a different password, then it might be useful to leave on for friends. That way they can use the Internet but not access your local PC files. Read about it more in your manual.

Re: Network connection

Yes this is with your router which is usually accessed by typing the IP 192.168.1.1 into the browser address bar. Dual band routers can create 2.4 channel connetions with a name like Motorola54 and a 5 ghz band with a name like MotorolaG5 and also a guest connection that isolations from the other networks. You can also secure all the connections even the guest. The network that says open doesn't have a password. It's a good idea to secure all of them.
