Windows 10 Upgrade, how long will it remain active?

Windows 10 Upgrade

If I update to Windows 10 (currently have 8.1 now), and I need to reload Windows 10 down the line, will it still remain activated?

Once you activate on a machine it remains activated on the machine for the life of the machine. But you can't install install 8.1 and set up a dual boot. You have to use one or the other.
