Windows Central Question

Protected operating system files are shown (Windows 10). Can't hide them all.

I recently ran HFV Cleaner Pro to remove the "shortcut virus" in the whole system (the tool says it unhides all the files). After that, I can see hidden files everywhere like desktop.ini and hidden folders inside C Drive. The option to hide system files doesn't work anymore. What should I do? Thank you.

open file explorer and go to folder options - under the view tab make sure that the checkbox for hiding files is ticked

I had a similar problem with my PC - it was showing me the hidden files and folders (not system ones) and file extensions. The options to disable these from the Folder Options menu wasn't working. Turned out, there were some viruses in my PC, and a scan with Bitdefender cleaned them out.
