Upgrading pre-installed Win8.1 to Win10 after July

Hey,

I am currently looking to buy a 2 in 1 laptop - a lot of those are still from Windows 8.1 days and come pre-installed with it. Does anyone know if there will be any option to upgrade them to Win10 for free in the future?

You could check with the OEM and see if they have a program to upgrade their leftover stock in that model...

But free from Microsoft, sorry the door has swung closed on that.

As of July 29th Microsoft has ended its free Windows 10 upgrade offer. But still you can get it for free if your pc or laptop has assistive technologies connected to it.

Hey, I just thought, simply adding a mic or headset for voice use would be adding standard assistive technology. Even easier.

Or the standard vocal control addition of a mic? Even easier.
