Windows 10 downgrade?

Hi my name is Gustavo Woltmann from Panama, is it possible to downgrade my windows 10 to windows 7? I just need to back to my old windows version to retrieve an important file I cant open on windows 10. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Welcome to Windows Central! Going back to W7 will not help retrieve an important file. Are you saying there is a file on W10 that you can't open? If you have the W7 media installation and the key, you could possible go back to W7, but the file won't be there. What file are you trying to open on W10?

Tell us what kind of file it is and what is happening when you try to open it. Fixing a compatibility issue would likely be much simpler than rolling back the whole computer.

It's probably a .WTV file or something. Rather than have us guessing though OP, why not tell us and get some practical assistance? I doubt a W7 reinstall is the best way, but ideally you would do that in a VM. No need to wipe your OS to do this.
