I think it all started with XP (got burned then, and with first PC with 7), but there were options in how the updates were loaded and installed.

MS really needs to fix W10 updates. Working hours may help a bit (unless computer needs to be online 24/7), but checking updates seems to be an agreement to update and restart right now... Sometimes I wish I could use 8.1 instead.
Wait, there's more: if computer has been offline for several weeks, update does not work. WTF?

W10M (I might be wrong here) may have another angle: if restart after update does not unlock sim, no calls or texts received.

I've never had Windows do a restart in the middle of doing something on 2 machines. Usually i go out and look for the on Tuesdays and start them myself. Then it asks me if I want to restart.
