Do i need boot able pen drive for upgrading window 10 32 bit to 64 bit ?

Every usb drive can be made bootable. It's not the usb drive, but what is on it that makes it bootable. Note that the BIOS must also be configured to boot from USB.

Download the Windows ISO and the tool Rufus and you are good to go.

Well, whilst the post above is technically right there is an issue commonly experienced which needs to be considered. You see, some USB flash sticks show up as removable storage whereas some do not. This was something to do with a spec change in the industry at some point? The problem is that a fair number of motherboards like to boot from only one of the two types of storage reported. This can vary even between the same model of stick from the same brand manufactured on different dates. So, if you have trouble with one type, try the other. Unfortunately it is difficult to advise re. a specific product, you're left feeling around in the dark I'm afraid. Of course, you could use a DVD R or RW. They pretty much always work. If you don't have a drive, external USB DVD drives are cheap and worth grabbing for this reason alone.
