I am currently a windows 10 insider member. I can't seem to find the answer to this question.

If i upgrade to a new PC and I install windows 10 from the USB I made a while ago will windows 10 pick up that I'm apart of the insider program and activate my copy or will it just say no go buy one...?
Or would it be possible to ghost my windows 10 drive to a larger SSD (current is 60gb) and just have to call Microsoft to reactivate as its new hardware?

Hope that makes a bit of sense... and thank you in advance for any help...

I believe you can attach your Windows 10 Product Key to your Microsoft Account.

Settings>Update & Security>Activation>And then select ADD AN ACCOUNT.

IMO This is the recommended way, you should be able to activate Windows on different hardware or different machine.

It should work if you're apart of the Insider Program.

If you ghost to another drive it might work but it might not.

Stolendream,

To save you the trouble of replying, here is an article you must read.

Here's how you can still get a free Windows 10 upgrade | ZDNet

So far, there is no report that Microsoft have closed the "crack".
So you can legally upgrade with your Win 7, 8/8.1 to Windows 10.

Just one thing. Your USB has an out-dated Windows 10 iso file.
Suggest that you go to Media Creation Tool and download the current iso file.
