What method did you use trying to update to CU ?
Please answer that. It is important.

You screenshot suggests you have a dual boot setup. Yes or no ?

In any event, follow this.......
Right click at the Start button > left side, click Run.
In the Run box, type msconfig > OK

In the msconfig windows, click Boot at the top > what do you see inside the big white box ?

Do you see your Windows 10 listed and something else also listed ?
Please post a screenshot of that, if you can.

I went to msconfig boot and deleted the extra which was not required now can I try update again or should I take any preventions?

You didn't do a screenshot, did you.
I was very much curious to see what were listed in the box.

Anyway, please do a system restore point first. If something goes bad, you have this restore point to fall back to.
Do you do system image backup regularly ?
If yes, do one.
If no, never mind.

As to updating the Creators Update, use the link below.
www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Click the Update now button.
That will enable the Upgrade Assistant to check on your machine's readiness. If approved, it will begin downloading. Follow the prompts.
If the Upgrade Assistant finds your computer not ready for Creators Update, it will say so. At least you won't run into the problem you had before.
