Google contacts not loading onto People app Windows 10 Lumia 930

I have had no problem with getting my Google contacts to sync with my people app on my Lumia 930 for several years. This morning, I did a factory reset as my phone was having some issues, and now, the contacts won't load. I have googled the issue and it seems I am not alone. All other Google information such as calendar and email are working fine, just contacts.
