I want to move from an older desktop to a new desktop and heard that PCMover Pro will do that job without the headaches of reloading all of the application software accumulated over the years.

I also read that mirroring the hard-drive will do the same job. Just move the mirrored hard-drive to the new desktop and wa-la.

My colleagues who work in our PC sales and repair department used to use PC Mover, but they quit before too long. It kind of worked, but overall it created more hassle than it saved. This of course depends largely on the programs you're trying to move. But with the glitches added to the cost, they ultimately decided it wasn't worth it.

When you say mirroring the hard drive, what exactly do you mean? Putting an image of the hard drive from the old PC onto the hard drive of the new PC? This is NOT recommended, and probably won't work well, if at all. Sometimes you can get this to work if the machines are close to the same, but in general you shouldn't even think about doing it.

If I'm misunderstanding what you mean, please ignore the above paragraph!
