Trouble setting up Remote Destop

Hi all,

I'm having trouble setting up remote destop on my Dell XPS 12 running Win8. I want to control it from my Surface RT, on which I have installed the Remote Desktop app from the store, but when I type in the compter name of my XPS, it cannot be found on the Surface.

I have enabled remote connections on the XPS through

control panel -> system -> remote settings

no problem. It has McAfee running on it, including the firewall. I disabled the firewall just to test it, but it remains unidentifiable on the Surface.

Maybe someone out there has a step-by-step setup tutorial?

Remote Assistance is completely different from remote desktop. Remote Desktop isn't on according to that tab. Is the image from the Dell?

Yes, that's from the Dell settings. Is there actually a component missing in Win8?

Only the Pro and Enterprise version of Windows 8 can host Remote Desktop.

Grrrr!!! Only has normal Win8. May have to upgrade....
