First, let's add folder shortcuts to My Compu... err.... This PC, that the average user can't remove without a registry hack.
(HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/MyComputer/NameSpace)
Next, let's do the same thing in 32-bit programs like Firefox: same thing, can't remove without a registry hack. (Same place, but involves Wow6432Node this time.)
Now, let's add folders and shortcuts you can't remove without a registry hack in the DESKTOP folder!!!XB1 (Note these can only be viewed in Explorer, not the desktop itself.)
I do NOT have SkyDrive, HomeGroup, the User Folder, Control Panel, or the Network folder on my desktop!
Sorry to say, but 8.1 has been an annoyance for me, despite being 110% accustomed to 8.0.
