Notification of shared calendar updates

Using the "rooms" feature on WP8 I can have a shared calendar and get notified on the live tile if someone updates anything in the calendar.

Is there any way to do this on Windows 8/8.1?

I have the shared calendar configured on my Surface 2 and it works ok in the calendar app but I cant tell if someone has updated it without going through it and looking for anything new.

Any ideas?
