I have the necessary files for Windows 8.1 Update 1. They installed just fine on two of my PCs during the original leak. I had to rebuild my Thinkpad Yoga and now the updates do not work going in the same order. The kb2919355 update seems to take but after reboot it errors at about 90% updated and says windows was unable to complete the update, undoing changes. About 30 minutes later I am back to where I started.

Did something change with the original leak to now? I saved the instructions and follow them to the T and no dice. I've tried several different options.

Make sure you have all the current updates installed first, then try a different order:
1.KB2919442
2.KB2939087
3.KB2919355
4.KB2932046
5.KB2938439
6.KB2937592
I found this list from someone else who said that things went a lot quicker. You might also want to do the reboots after each one instead of waiting till all were installed (if you did).

Sorry.

I guess you might have to wait for the official release. Even though everyone says these are final builds, I have a feeling that MS is still tweaking them a little bit before officially releasing them.

They are the RTM builds. What I expect will happen is that on general release availability there will be an additional update or two released via Windows update. This is the way Win 8 and 8.1 were done.

Did you install any of the preview leaks? If it's the case you need to uninstall ALL preview updates before installing the RTM.

Also U1 is divided in only 4 MSUs. Three of these may be current updates, but they aren't related to U1.

I ran into issues with my system and had to roll back. I used the following order this time.
1.KB2919442
2.KB2939087
3.KB2919355
4.KB2932046
5.KB2938439
6.KB2937592

Things are working much better! When I'm in the desktop, all the running modern apps show icons on the taskbar this time.
