Just an FYI for you early birds who thought you had the final version of Windows 8.1 Update 1, seems that may not be the case now. Rafael Rivera just posted the following in Twitter:

"Heh, the leaked 8.1U1 MSUs don't seem to match the ones that were on WU. Now to determine why...."

Why on Earth would anyone think they had the final build of Win8.1 Update 1?

I mean, cone on. It states pre-release for a reason.

There are plenty of folks who thought that just because it was sitting on the Windows update server that it was finished and ready for deployment, that's why.

And as far as I know the leaked versions didn't have prerelease branding on them.

And people razzed me when I said that MS is tweaking the updates. I hate being right :angry:

I've dealt with MS for years, found many bugs that made it into their updates and I'm quite familiar with their process. I hope those who chose to try the leaks made restore points so they can fall back before installing the official release.
