windows search is missing files!

Hello everyone.
in the days of windows 98/XP The search function was very simple and reliable.

but the new search method in windows 7/8/8.1 just misses files.
1. sometimes it searches for ever.
2. but the real bad thing is that it misses files! it drives me crazy! i type a file and search it, it gives no reasults and then i find it my self! how can it be? is windows 7/8 search files only on indexted places?
3. the search on explorer and the search on WIN+F or WIN+W (what's the difference between them) gives another resaults!

what a mess!!!

Re: windows search is missing files!

The XP search required 3 click (or Windows+S) while Windows 7 and beyond only requires Windows Explorer to search.

WIN+F is for Files
WIN+W is for Settings

You're clearly better off with either WIN+S or WIN+F

It's highly possible when you searched in Windows Explorer you only searched inside the folder you were currently in and not the whole drive.
