Wouldn't Hurt to Release an Update for their services

It seems that updates are rare on the Windows 8.1 store, especially since some of the apps are in need of serious bug fixes and resolving of simple issues e.g. unable to log-in to HERE Maps. All that is a little worrying but I'm more concerned about whether there are any security potholes in the apps or not. It may be worst as a hacker could very well enter the backway through these potholes and stuff just becomes bad.

The apps in the store are encrypted so as long as they're installed from the store and not side loaded it's highly unlikely a hacker would be able to compromise it. Secondly, Here did update their mobile apps last week to address the sign in issue, my guess is they'd be patching it soon on W8.1 too. As far as data breaches are concerned, yes they are possible if a hacker hacks into the app's backend system. This would not be due to a buggy app in the store.
