Mail, Calendar and People apps have disappeared!

Mail, Calendar and People apps have disappeared from my Surface 2 (my only device not on W10).

I went to the store and tried to reinstall. It flashes up "installing" but then nothing. Rebooted and retried with the same result.

Anyone else seeing this?

OK, I solved it, but it wasn't very intuitive.

Last night, I turned on 2 Step Verification. This, apparently was the cause of this problem!

I went to Outlook on the desktop and it wanted a password, but wouldn't accept mine. Then I started to see the issue. OK, I generated an app password on Microsoft.com and used that and it came up and refreshed. Then I was able to install Mail, etc.

Now, I can understand that it wanted a second password but WHY on earth would it uninstall the apps? Why not just ask for verification when I opened them?

Oh well, it's working now.
