So I recently updated facebook to the new timeline feature which is pretty neat, but along with that I have been receiving a lot of new status notifications that I previously was not getting:
    X likes your life event
    X posted on your timeline

When you touch either I get the message
    Can't get feeds
We're having trouble downloading this right now. Try again in a little while.

I guess my question is two fold: As I have only been using windows phone for a little while, how long do you think before they update the core OS to include this functionality or do you think we'll see an updated facebook app before then?

Considering the app or OS still don't support facebook Groups I'd say November 2012 is about right....

WebKit is the IE6 of Mobile, and WP7 simply doesn't have the marketshare for Facebook to bother porting the newer web apps to it. Opera Mobile has more marketshare. This isn't an issue just for Timeline. The entire facebook Mobile Site using the old version while WebKit browsers load the Web App version which looks like the iOS/Android Facebook applications.
