Not sure is this is an API thing or how these apps are written, but the behavior is the same for the 3rd party apps I have installed that have a Notification feature.
Notification are set to on, like with Kik messenger or Tango, and the screen is locked or another app open, when a new message arrives I only get the banner across the top and no vibrating and sound alert like I do with the OS native messanging feature.
Does this behave differently for anyone else? I would like the OS to use the same alerting setting I have for all messages. Also, a visual queue on the locked screen would be nice as well, but I am guessing it would get too cluttered or there is currently no 3rd party app support for this type of feature.
