Hi,

I have HD7 with 16GB space onboard. Currently I have about 1 GB of music
2 Gb of movies and photos.

The rest of the space is occupied about 11 Gb to reserved space.

How the heck I can manage this? On Zune setting I set the reserved space on 2%.
I even tried to lower this to 0% but Reserved Space still uses 10 Gb.

I need a way to claim this back without hard resetting the phone or removing all my installed apps.. That'd be really ridiculous.

What to do?

Thanks guys..

I did a little counting... I find it really strange...

Lets say.. theoretically I have 100 apps and 100 games installed.
(I don't think I do, but just for the sake of argument)

Lets say on average each app takes about 5 MByte and each game
uses up 20 MB. ( I think "on average" should take less than that)
With a little calculation my apps should use about 500 MB, and
my games total to 2 GigaByte.. For a grand total of 2.5 Gbyte.

Right now they're using up to 11 Gbyte of my precious unupgradable
memory space.

As I said before, setting Reserved Space Zune setting to 0% still
takes 10Gbyte.

There's something wrong here...

How to find out which app is taking so much space?

O ya, I even already tried and removed my facebook account on my phone
but it's not the culprit..

Thanks for any help....

Have you changed primary computers that you sync with? It will keep separate space for the two computers. Check what your phone says is available as opposed to what Zune says is available.

1. music / Pics / Vids /contacts /anything not stock = also takes memory
Saved data in APPs/ saved data in Games!! = also take up room

Second , its NORMAL to have reserve space cause it prevents problems just like on a PC.
you should ALWAYS have 500MB/1GIG of free reserved space you cant touch.

you can change the reserved space from the settings in ZUNE. I dont remember how but i remember playing with it a few month back.

To know how much size your app takes:

1. Apps Size App for Windows Phone - YouTube
2. if you go on marketplace: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/marketplace on the left side when you select an APP/Game it tells you how big it is.

or you can start fresh and hard reset...
