Live tiles not updating

I've seen a couple of threads on the same issue without a solution that doesn't involve a hard reset. The problem i'm facing is that only 3rd part tiles are not updating. Default OS tiles like Dialer, Mail, Me, calender etc. are updating just fine. But none of the 3rd party ones are. Anyone know how to fix this without doing a hard reset. I don't want to lose all my messages, e-books, 150+ games and apps I have on my phone. It will take ages to set it up the same way again. Any help is appreciated
