windows phone and car stereo

I have a samsung focus sgh-i917 and was wondering if there is a way to connect my phone to my cars stereo using the usb port instead of the aux port and be able to control the music via the stereo buttons like with a regular mp3 player.

You won't be able to do this - the devices lacks the MTP protocol. Same reason why when you connect your phone to a PC you need the Zune desktop software to do anything with the contents.
