Predictive text has stopped working on Cyan update on Lumia 1520

I no longer get any word selection prompts when typing SMS or WhatsApp texts. The only recent change on my Nokia 1520 was the Cyan update. Is there any way of switching predictive text back on? I couldn't find anything in settings.

You should be able to easily toggle suggested text on and off in Settings > keyboard > tap the keyboard language of concern > check or uncheck "Suggest text".

I checked the keyboard setting earlier and there was no toggle text option available. I just checked again now and there is a message to the effect that text suggestions are missing for this (US English) keyboard and offering to download them now. I expect that will solve my problem.
