Lately some apps are just not downloading/updating and just show pending.
Some of the apps were : VLC on 1020, candy crush on 520, and some updates just stuck on pending on both the devices. Tried cancelling, reinstalling, using XAPs from website all get stuck in the end. Funny thing one app was stuck for 2-3 hrs and then started installing again and then got stuck again.

I'm seeing the same issue. When my apps finally do install, the icon for the app is not present, and some of app names are changed to a long string of characters beginning with the "@" symbol.

I just downloaded the update on VLC and had no problems with it. I have the 1520 with a 64gb storage card . Could it be you have memory limitations with your storage> Just a thought. Or have you tried a soft reset?

I have around 26 gigs (Lumia 1020, internal storage) left at moment, so space is not the problem here, whilst the other apps are installing fine, at the moment it is just VLC. After the soft reset now it shows me error: 81030137

OK, so I have managed to install VLC using .appx file from the website. Now the app page shows me there is a new update available. This is surely a bug cause the version now installed is latest v1.1.1.0 . On the other hand VLC still gives buggy experience for me.

After reading around the net, I have discovered that my issues are related to the fact that some 535s are having trouble installing and keeping apps installed on the SD card.
