Cortana, changing language but not region

I have an AT&T 1520 and I live in the US however I'm British.

With both Denim and Cyan, I tried changing only the "speech language", which also requires changing the "language", but NOT the "region". I changed it from English US to English UK and when I do, download, reboot, etc., Cortana fails to work. WTF. I'm leaving the region to the US.

Does Cortana not support a language that doesn't precisely match the region? That seems rally narrow sighted.

Any clue on how I can get this to work?

Right now you can't mix Settings. In future when it is an official in multiple Regions, probably. I have English UK for the speech engine in my Here Drive+... Until the release is more widespread, Settings must harmonize with Region.

That really sucks, thanks for the confirmation. That's pretty stupid for non-native speakers to use it in a given country.
