People really need to stop this who copies who trend... seriously... if you don't like it because it looks like this or that... don't buy it...

Yeah, 1jaxstate1 is right... The older nanos had rounded edges. And Simon is right too. Things will look similar. There are only so many configurations you make for a case that houses a rectangular screen.

They look eerily similar though... and why doesn't the iPod Touch look like the iPhone?

Blatant rip-off. That said, I'm sure Nokia will be flattered.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right? If rectangular rectangles with icons laid out in a grid is worth a billion-dollar lawsuit...

Let's see:

(1) A monochromatic rounded rectangle,
(2) set inside a brightly-colored polycarbonate case,
(3) that has sharply squared-off edges when viewed from the front,
(4) has rounded sides (when you view the cross-section),
(5) has only two rows of icons instead of the typical four of iOS, and
(6) has a home button at the bottom center.

I'm joking...kind of ;)

Disagree. It's the iPod Nano from a few years back, except bigger.

That iPod Nano was square with no home button, not rectangular with a bottom home button. This is closer to the Lumia 900 than the previous iPod Nano in my opinion.

its not so much the body that makes it look copied. its the screen popping out of the body that really makes it look copied.

I would say it's reminiscent of the lumia design, just like the lumia design is reminiscent of the square nano design:
